During this past weekend, all over the country people joined in full force to march and demonstrate in the second “Women’s March.” In Hawai’i’s capital of Honolulu, the organizers shifted the event’s nomenclature to the “People’s Rally.”
I was hesitant to go because I committed to attend a funeral and I also have issues with the way the organizers changed the name, and for me, it’s impact.
However, no matter my opinions and feelings about any changes that transpired, I decided that standing in solidarity with those who are underserved, underrepresented, and especially misrepresented was more important.
