Nice to meet you!
Thank you for visiting today! If you wish to collaborate or become acquainted, feel free to contact me!
Anyway, here’s a bit about me:
Growing up, I have always been keen to the matters of my community and around the world, especially politics and international relations. As I continued to pursue these interests through my high school, undergraduate, and graduate studies, my participation naturally grew in advocating and volunteering in the appropriate organizations that work tirelessly for those causes that I care about, such as: Placemaking/urbanism, antitrafficking, civic engagement, volunteerism, youth empowerment, government transparency, and my community.
My utmost passion and drive in life is to serve my community. I am a volunteers’ coordinator for multiple organizations, sit on nonprofit boards, and volunteer for causes I believe in, because, as Marian Wright Edelman said:
“I was taught that the world had a lot of problems; that I could struggle and change them; that intellectual and material gifts brought the privilege and responsibility of sharing with others less fortunate; and that service is the rent each of us pays for living, the very purpose of life and not something you do in your spare time or after you have reached your personal goals”
I serve the City and County of Honolulu in the State of Hawaiʻi as a Chief of Staff. Prior to that, I was an External Government Relations & Legislative Aide with the Honolulu City Council, a Legislative Aide with the Hawaiʻi State Legislature, and a nonprofit professional in Honolulu. I am grateful for the opportunity to not just meet people, but really learn who they are and help them make their daily lives better. It gives me so much understanding of the issues and concerns of our constituents, and reaffirms my commitment to my community as a public servant.
Along with working in government, I am involved in Hawaiʻi real estate and am so ecstatic when I witness hardworking individuals find their dream home or investment.
I am also a columnist and Associate Editor for the Fil-Am Courier, Hawaiʻi’s leading Filipino publication. #MetropolitanMillennial is my column with the Courier and I also curate input on pertinent issues in our community from our community in the Community Pulse/Voices column. I also provide news pieces for various news media outlets internationally that helps me to share with the world issues that matter in Hawaiʻi and to Filipinos and Filipino-Americans.
